Expert Homemade Margherita Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 250g of all-purpose flour
  • 150ml of warm water
  • 1g of active dry yeast
  • 1g of sugar
  • 5g of salt
  • 15ml of olive oil
  • 200g of fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 100g of canned San Marzano tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves (to taste)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Pizza stone
  • Rolling pin
  • Pizza cutter
  • Oven
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt to create the dough.
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size (if time permits).
  • Preheat the oven to the highest setting (around 250°C or 482°F) and place the pizza stone inside.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
  • Spread the canned San Marzano tomatoes on the dough, leaving a small border.
  • Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese into pieces and distribute evenly on the pizza.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then drizzle with olive oil.
  • Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and allow to cool for a minute before slicing.
