Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of uncooked jasmine rice
  • 4 cups of vegetable broth
  • 1 cup of diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup of diced carrots
  • 1 cup of frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Large pot
  • Ladle
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Instructions:

  • Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced bell peppers, carrots, and sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  • Stir in the rinsed rice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing well for about 2 minutes.
  • Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  • Gently fold in the frozen peas and allow to heat through for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let it sit covered for a few minutes before fluffing with a fork.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
