🍕 Homemade Pepperoni Pizza Recipe

🧾 Ingredients

For the Dough (or use store-bought if you prefer):

  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Toppings:

  • ½ cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 20–30 slices of pepperoni

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

  • Red pepper flakes or fresh basil (optional garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Make the Dough (skip if using ready-made)

  1. In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  3. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Prep the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it inside to heat.

Step 3: Assemble the Pizza

  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.

  2. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.

  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese all over.

  5. Add pepperoni slices evenly across the top.

  6. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning if using.

Step 4: Bake

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.

Step 5: Serve

  • Let it cool slightly, slice it up, and enjoy! Add red pepper flakes or fresh basil if you want a little extra flavor kick.
