- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Air fryer
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Tongs
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Place the coated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Cook the chicken for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the hot honey by mixing honey, hot sauce, and melted butter in a small bowl.
- Once the chicken is done, drizzle the hot honey over the fried chicken before serving.
